Using the Parcel Fabric in Bonaire
Attend and learn how Cadaster Bonaire implemented ArcGIS Pro 2.4 Parcel Fabric to deliver new efficiencies and process improvements. Linked to an external database, the Parcel Fabric is the backbone of the cadastral system enabling new capabilities, standardized workflows and data quality improvement.

For nearly 60 years, Cadaster Bonaire has been responsible for managing approximately 13,000 parcels on the island nestled in the Leeward Antilles. Home to 20,000 inhabitants, the island municipality is about 282 km².

The office is responsible for mapping parcels, registering notary deeds for secure land transfer, and safeguarding legal certainty and legal affairs of properties on the island.
By using Parcel Fabric, we have improved how we manage and create new parcel(s) while maintaining the history and data of the old parcel(s). The parcel data is integrated with an external database with the legal data such as:
  • Description of the parcel
  • The owner(s)
  • Information of the title of ownership
  • Mortgages and liens on the parcel(s)
  • Other legal obligations (usufruct, easement, apartment rights, building and planting right, footpath right, etc.)

Now it is possible when a parcel is split or merged into a new parcel, a new record is created with the legal information of the old parcels delivering efficiencies and better data in a modern, sustainable technology environment.

Speakers:
Riency M. Holder: CEO of Cadaster Bonaire
Guershon Nahr: CEO of ICT Labs N.V. Curacao
Rademier Streden: Developer ICT Labs N.V. Curacao
Operator system: Maurison Martines: GIS operator Cadaster Bonaire
