The Forestry Department
Forest Technician (GIS Unit)
Kingston, Jamaica
Ms. Jennilyn Burrell joined the Forestry Department in January 2016 and is a Forest Technician in the GIS Unit; a part of the Forest Resource Information Management (FRIM) Branch in the Forest Science and Technology Services Division.

Before working at the Forestry Department, Ms. Burrell spent 5 years in different GIS project-based capacities, as both team leader and GIS Officer, and completing several projects including the Portmore Municipal Council’s Landuse and Geodatabase creation.

Ms. Burrell is a graduate of the University of Technology, Jamaica where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Urban and Regional Planning. She has since been part of numerous training and certification exercises, in both GIS and other areas.

Ms. Burrell is an active member of the Land Information Council of Jamaica.
