As one of the premier professionals in his field in Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean, Sudesh Botha has been involved in several key initiatives over the last decade in the field of Geographic and Land Information Systems. Activities have included involvement in all stages of the project cycle; from project definition through technical design, implementation and project management as well as in the fields of software and concept training and business development. Sudesh Botha is presently a Director of GISCAD Limited, which focuses on the provision of regional GNSS/GPS Hardware and Software Solutions, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Solutions and Consultancy, Computer Aided Design (CAD) and GPS fleet management solutions to Government and Industry.
As a member of MapAction, teams deploy to help obtain a clear picture of humanitarian situation in a disaster hit country.
MapAction quickly gathers this crucial data at the disaster scene, conveying it visually in the form of maps. By creating this ‘shared operational picture’ for aid agencies, governments and local partners, we can help them make informed decisions and deliver aid and emergency supplies to the right place, quickly.
Mapaction, has the capacity to deploy a fully trained and equipped humanitarian mapping and information management team anywhere across the globe, often within hours.
Our team of over 70 trained volunteers follow a well-practiced deployment model, meaning we can respond within 24-48 hours of a rapid onset emergency.
